Calling all experts of late 1940s Packards (are you on Oppo?).
So I found a Packard ad from 1948. On it, three models: the Standard Eight, the Super Eight, and the Custom Eight. The first two have straight grilles, the Custom has an egg-crate. All three have different hood ornaments, and these were the only models offered in 1948 (to my knowledge).
Then I found this:
Which has a different grille and ornament combination.
What's up? Was this a different year? A different trim?

Trim:
You have the Eight, Super Eight, and Custom Eight. Going from base to luxury.

The pedestrian-skewering cormorant hood ornament was an option on all Packards, but standard on the top-line Custom Eight.

Okay, thanks, that makes sense! This was for all years?
